Meghan – Aurora McPherson
Taylor – Ralphie Cruz
Kate – Baylor Brennen
Alec – Orangustan Blackstar
The adventure begins in the basement of some kind of cryo-chamber, smells of metal and spilled chemicals, sun light drifts in when suddenly the ancient computers begin to wake and begin to wake the chambers our heroes are in.
We are surrounded by paintings of a great prior world now lost to war. The AI Sentinel Prime – an androgynous being made of light and code speak softly to our newly awakened group. Baylor is a strong round agile green Danny Devito (Booger blobby Mike Wasowski) like a weeble-wobble, his main component is that his mouth is located in the center of his belly. Aurora is pure-strain human and pure-strain BITCH, has a flint dagger and a bunch of shells. Ralphie is a living fleshy fern with a spear and the luck sign of Nuclear Winter. A large white bear named Tippy crawls out next, he is large and lanky like a skinny bear man.
Sentinal Prime’s voice speaks “Greetings Inheritors you have awakened at the cusp of a new dawn” We all look around among ourselves thinking “oh shit we have to preserve humanity”? We must explore out into the world to find artifacts and see what the world looks like now. Baylor states he wants to know why we must save the humans and asks Aurora who doesn’t know shit but Baylor is easily convinced.
There is a service tunnel to the left and in front is the main exit. We go with the service tunnel door. Aurora asks Tippy to lead as he is seemingly the strongest. Going the way we decided seemed to be the more discreet exit. The tunnel is narrow and filled with pipes and wires barely functional after the years of being left alone. We enter into a huge room with scientific equipment strewn about with a small amount of pulsing light. We find rows of chemicals and specimens. I see a computer with a screen flickering so I must descend a ladder and pass a huge work table. I look to the table to see if anything is living but it’s too dark to see.
Aurora opens a cabinet with reveals itself to be an unpowered refridgerator while a ton of bottle begin to fall but she catches them before finding basically a big ass battery that powers most things in this world. Baylor begins to look at the glowing from the work table finding the torso of a robotic “thing” with a ironmanish battery in the center. I walk over to check out the torso after Baylor asks me to look at it, there is a biological liquid inside. Ralphie is drawn to the fluid (because he’s a plant) as I look for a syringe to possibly remove the liquid from the torso. Aurora tries to look for something but rolls so bad it doesn’t matter. I shove the syringe into the body and it explodes with mist and I inhale it taking 1 point of damage and die. I begin to twitch as a pool of blood spreads from my eyes and butthole. RIP.
Another pod opens with smoke A normal looking man pops out in Jorts and a polo named Jeb Jepson. He walks over to Orangustan’s body and carefully peels the glasses off and puts them on his face giving him a +1 intelligence bonus. Ralphie (who was a computer programmer in the before times) he gently presses a key and caresses the computer into life. A menu pops up with 5 options. We access security and turn on the guardians of the facility, cameras turn on, we see possible treasure, a vast desert of the world beyond and some other stuff I missed. Some doors are unlocked while others have been stuck shut or are locked for other secret reasons. We see ANOMALY DETECTION within a restricted section of the area “a tantalizing mystery” Ralphie opens the research logs opening tons of scientific documents spanning years and years. He skims the titles looking for the word anomaly. He finds things located to the area of the anomaly we just saw in the security alert. PROJECT GENISES to create a biodiverse flora and fauna locked into some kind of area. A breakthrough says there was a new form of plant life with an ability to draw energy directly from the power grid. Logs continue to say they had issues with it taking huge amounts of energy from other parts of the building, it was then quarantined until there was a way to deal with it but cautioned anyone from checking it out. Ralphie attempts to hide this information from the others stating it is “A human problem, NOT a plant issue” Baylor states he believes him but asks what we should do about it and Ralphie says nothing. Ralphie thinks this is possibly related to himself and wishes to help the plants but secret.
We exit the lab into a corridor its covered in shadows, Auroras battery has some light coming off of it so we follow her to the right. We pass through the darkness until we reach another emergency light, door on the left and then another hallway to the right. Baylor opens the door in a regular way not quietly. From the direction we came from we here tunk tunk tunk tunk coming closer to us Ralphie is the only one who can hear it. In the room is a circular chamber with a dome roof with a chandelier, there are books and data pads. In the center is a large table covered in maps and scholarly things. Tippy turns and looks down the hall and hears whatever is coming. Ralphie says that he and tippy hear a clanking and we all start to hear it coming. I get everyone into the room and attempt to block the door, a huge book shelf collapses almost crushing me. Aurora grabs a table with Baylor and move a table to block the door (a sliding future door but idk lol).
At the center top of the room a GUN drops down and begins to shoot, we all avoid it and then it fucking explodes. It goes quiet and then the gun hangs limp from the ceiling broken and smoking. A book is burning a little bit so we use it to light the leg of a desk on fire as a torch. Aurora plugs her battery in to the library wall and the computer it’s the same as the one before. Aurora then finds a book with basically all the info before the apocalypse. We find a section between the books where the battery could go and the dome screens beginning flickering on until it has a picture of stars like a planetarium. Ralphie and Aurora starts flipping switches, the start map changes to historical events all zipping around and past with random documentaries. One fact stands out the GREAT THAW of the ice caps was the pivotal event revealing dark ocean waters that absorb sunlight.
We decide to see if Tippy can look beyond the door we blocked, the door slides open and on the other side is a metal robot on an orb that’s bent on one side causing it to clank while moving, one arm is ripped off and one has a gun, it begins to shoot missing Tippy. I jump to the side and shoot an arrow into its arm hole sparks go off but it’s not down yet, Baylor leather slings at it it’s head is hit and spins around until it falls off and collapses.
